LAHORE : Ravi Road Police have apprehended a notorious dacoit gang involved in over 24 robberies across the city.
The three-member gang, identified as Salman alias Chitra, Arshad alias Babu, and Ali Haider alias Baba, was traced through CCTV footage showing them committing crimes. The suspects had been operating daily in various areas, including Ravi Road, Badami Bagh, Shad Bagh, and Gujjarpura. Gang leader Salman alias Chitra was also wanted by police in an attempted murder case. During the arrest, the suspects attempted to flee but were unsuccessful.
Two men commit suicide
Two tragic incidents of suicide were reported in different areas of the city on Saturday.
According to Edhi representatives, in the first incident, a 35-year-old man, identified as Shehzad, son of Riaz, ended his life by hanging himself in Ahmad Town, Baghbanpura.
The second incident occurred in Peer Colony, Gulberg, where a 30-year-old man, identified as Sajid Riaz, consumed poisonous substances, leading to his death.
‘Fika Dacoit Gang’ apprehended
Mozang Police apprehended the "Fika Dacoit Gang" comprising two members on Saturday. The arrested suspects include the gang leader Rafique alias Fika and his accomplice Kamran. The duo had been actively involved in snatching and armed robberies across various localities in provincial capital. According to police, both suspects are habitual criminals with a history of involvement in multiple cases of robbery, theft, and snatching.
