LAHORE : The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has apprehended officials of the Food Department accused of causing a loss of over Rs170 million to the government treasury through fake bank vouchers.
Following an inquiry, the accused were found guilty of their involvement in the wheat scandal and were subsequently arrested. The arrested individuals include the District Food Controller M Zaman, Assistant Food Officers M Shabbir and M Tariq, along with senior clerks M Sharif, Abdul Ghaffar, Atiq-ur-Rehman, Qamar Rasheed, and M Ijaz. Efforts are underway to arrest Deputy Director Ahmed Nawaz.
Anti-Corruption Director General Sohail Zafar Chattha reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and vowed to hold all those involved accountable.
