LAHORE: A two-day international environmental conference, set to commence tomorrow (Saturday) here in City. Supreme Court Justice Ayesha Malik will inaugurate the event, while Justice Athar Minallah will address the second session the same day.
Founder of the Environmental and Animal Rights Organisation, Altamush Saeed, emphasised the urgent need to raise awareness about animal cruelty in Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference, he highlighted recent cases of animal abuse, such as a camel's leg being severed in Sindh and a donkey losing all four legs in another city.
On Sunday, Lahore High Court Justice Jawad Hassan and renowned actress Faryal Gohar will participate in the concluding session. Saeed called for the inclusion of animal rights in the educational curriculum and stressed the need for collective action to protect animals, adding that his organisation is the first in Pakistan to champion this cause.
