LAHORE: Under Chief Minister’s Sarkain Bahal Punjab Khushal Programme, the C&W Department is making rapid progress in the rehabilitation and construction of roads throughout the province.
The repair and construction of 462 roads is ongoing. So far, 1,558 kilometres of earthwork has been completed. A briefing was given to Minister for C&W Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth on the programme. The briefing highlighted that 780 kilometres of sub-base work and 1,434 kilometres of base work have been completed. Additionally, surfacing work has been completed on 296 kilometres. In total, 24pc of the work has been successfully completed. The field teams of the C&W Department continue to work diligently, with strict monitoring of high-quality materials to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the project. Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf is overseeing the daily progress of the project. Minister Malik Sohaib emphasised that under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Sarkain Bahal Punjab Khushal Program is progressing swiftly with the aim of providing the public with the best travel facilities across the province. He mentioned that the dedicated staff of the C&W Department along with thousands of labourers are working around the clock to ensure the public receives superior travel facilities.
