LAHORE: A man on Friday injured his sister by throwing hot water on her in a Sheikhupura locality during a minor altercation.
Virtual Women Police Station received a call on the Emergency 15 Helpline and the police was informed that a man had thrown hot water on his sister. The Virtual Women Police Station dispatched police to the scene and cops shifted the woman to hospital and registered a case and arrested the accused. The victim came to her parent's house with her husband where the incident happened. According to the spokesperson for the Safe Cities Authority, in a fit of rage, the brother of the victim threw hot water on her, leaving her burnt badly.
Drug peddler escapes custody
A drug peddler escaped from police custody here on Friday. According to police sources, Sub-Inspector Abid and Constable Babar Gul of Hanjarwal (Investigation) Police were taking accused Waqas Ahmed in a private vehicle to the police station and near the police station, the accused escaped from their custody. 12 held from different areas
Police arrested 12 accused from different areas here on Friday. Green Town police arrested three robbers and recovered a bike and two pistols from them. Guldasht Town police apprehended two bandits and recovered five bikes and weapons from them. Model Town police detained two brothers, who were involved in the motorcycle theft and recovered two stolen motorcycles and a pistol from their possession.
Gulberg police nabbed a three-member gang and recovered three motorcycles, Rs 300,000, mobile phones, and weapons from them. Meanwhile, Dolphin Squad foiled an arms smuggling attempt and arrested two suspects and recovered automatic rifles and ammunition from them.
