LAHORE:Cold wave continued to prevail in the City here on Monday while Met office warned similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most areas of the country while very cold at hill stations during night/morning hours. Frost (in patches) was also expected in the plain areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Punjab during morning hours. Shallow fog was expected at few places in South Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning/night hours.
Rainfall was only recorded at Okara, Sargodha and DI Khan. Monday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh where mercury dropped to -13°C, while in Lahore, it was 7°C and maximum was 20.5°C.
The AQI of the city remained unhealthy as it was 175. PM2.5 concentrations was currently 20.7 times the World Health Organisation annual PM2.5 guideline value.
