LAHORE : Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Friday announced an increase in funds for home purchases for the families of police martyrs.
The CM in response to efforts of IGP Dr Usman Anwar increased house purchase funds for the families of police martyrs from Rs5 million to Rs20 million. Now the fund for the families of martyred constables and head constables has been increased by Rs5 million to Rs18.5m. Similarly, families of martyred ASIs and sub-inspectors now will be given Rs24.5m. Besides, Rs10m has been increased for the families of martyred inspectors and DSPs, Rs12m for families of SPs and SSPs and Rs20m has been increased for the families of DIGs and officers of higher ranks.
Two Police players selected for Lahore Qalandars
Two players of Punjab Police have been selected for the Lahore Qalandars cricket team.
Elite Force Constable Imran Arif and Anti-Riot Force’s Muhammad Shoaib joined the Lahore Qalandars Development Programme and will participate in Zimbabwe’s domestic cricket season.
IGP lauds services of Christian cops
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Friday lauded the services of Christian employees and termed them as a valuable asset to the police force.
During a meeting with Christian Communication Officer Nafees Raza at the Central Police Office (CPO), the IGP said the Christian cops were being provided equal opportunities for career growth.
The IGP gave a certificate to Nafees Raza for his outstanding performance.
Earlier, the IGP made a surprise call to the Virtual Meesaq Centre without disclosing his identity and Nafees responded diligently and provided requested information and services. MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younas and RPO Faisalabad Dr Muhammad Abid Khan also attended the meeting.
