LAHORE:Authorities concerned have issued challan tickets to 24,483 smoky vehicles. More than 6,000 vehicles have been impounded at various police stations over spreading pollution.
According to a spokesperson for the relevant department, owners of 4,232 tractor-trolleys were also fined as they operate at night and contributing to air pollution. Action was taken against 22,490 vehicles for having no valid fitness certificates and fitness certificates of 525 dilapidated vehicles were revoked.
