LAHORE:The Lahore General Hospital (LGH), for the first time, has introduced a modern facility like pediatric bronchoscopy for timely treatment and diagnosis of children.
Amiruddin Medical College Principal Prof Al-Fareed Zafar was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Prof Al-Fareed Zafar said on the occasion that training would be provided to the young doctors for bronchoscopy procedure and HoD Pulmonology Dr Javed Magsi and MS Dr Faryad Hussain have been given a special task to take steps on a priority basis for the training of young doctors.
Principal AMC appreciated the efforts of MS LGH Dr Farid Hussain for establishing a state-of-the-art bronchoscopy unit for children. He also said that this procedure would be done by pulmonologists and pediatric specialists together.
Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar said that standard medical facilities were being provided in LGH. According to the instructions by CM Maryam Nawaz, special attention was being given to the treatment of children.
MS Dr Faryad Hussain said that bronchoscopy would diagnose complex lung diseases in children by which treatment would be possible without delay and the bronchoscopy test facility would be available free-of-cost. Prof Agha Shabbir Ali, Prof Mian Hanif, Prof Faheem Afzal, MS Dr Frayad Hussain, Dr Javed Magsi and others were also present in the ceremony.
