LAHORE:In 21st meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) CYF 2024-25, chaired by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, three development projects worth Rs11 billion were approved.
The meeting was attended by Secretary, P&D Board, Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masoud Anwar, members of the P&D Board, heads of relevant departments, and other senior representatives.
The approved schemes include construction of flyover at Khawaja Corporation on Adyala Road, District Rawalpindi estimated cost Rs2.114 billion, dualization of Road from Mandi Bahauddin City to Sarai Alamgir Canal Pul Main GT Road via village Rasool, length 46-km, district MB Din estimated cost Rs 8.125 billion and rooftop rainwater harvesting in MC Murree estimated cost Rs442.32 million.
‘Healthy activities being promoted as per CM’s vision’
Punjab Youth Affairs Department in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is working on several projects for the development of healthy activities and sports culture among the younger generation of the province. DG Youth Affairs Punjab Pervez Iqbal said this while talking to office-bearers of APCA Union Sports Department, who called on him at his office at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
During the visit, the APCA Union Sports Department officials, including President Fiaz Ali and Secretary Nabeel Akram, congratulated the Director General on his promotion to Grade 20 and expressed their best wishes for his future endeavors. Pervez Iqbal on this occasion emphasised the importance of sports development in Punjab and highlighted the efforts of Punjab Youth Affairs Department in promoting sports culture among the younger generation. He mentioned the ongoing projects to build new sports complexes and rehabilitate existing facilities across the province.
He also expressed gratitude for the support and collaboration of the APCA Union Sports Department in promoting sports activities within the province. “The development of healthy activities across the Punjab province is the mission and aim of Sports Board Punjab for which we are utilising all of our energies and resources,” he added. He said, “We are also organising multiple events to trace fresh talented male and female athletes from all parts of the province”.
