LAHORE:Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan hoisted national flag in a solemn ceremony conducted on the occasion of 77th Independence Day at Governor’s House on Wednesday.
Iranian Consul General Mehran Movahhedfar,, representatives of the American and Chinese consulates and a large number of people attended the ceremony. Speaking on this occasion, Punjab governor said Pakistan came into being due to immense sacrifices of our ancestors. He saluted the martyrs of Pakistan Army, Police and other law enforcement agencies who sacrificed their lives for the security and stability of the country.
The governor also paid tribute to the great sons of soil for guarding the borders in difficult circumstance and said that all the martyrs and ghazis are the pride of the country and the nation.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to work hard for the development and prosperity of the country. He said that everyone has to play a positive role in the development of the country. He thanked Iranian Consul General and representatives of Chinese and American Consulate for participating in the Independence Day celebrations.
Nadeem Pehlwan, Ch Aslam Gill, Mian Azizur Rahman Chan, Rana Farooq Saeed, Edwin Sohutra, Sadaqat Sherwani, Ch M Riaz, Dr Ayesha Shawkat, Faheem Rahi, Irfan Ch, Anjum Butt, Jahan Ara Wattoo, Rana Jameel Munj, Amjad Jatt, Zahid Zulfiqar Khan, Naseer Ahmed, Allama Yusuf Awan, Abid Sindhu, Khalid Gill, Nadeem Malik, Arif Khan, Ahsan Rizvi, Zeeshan Shami and others were present in the ceremony.
