Robbed German tourist compensated

LAHORE:Punjab Home Secretary Noor ul Amin Mengal, on the instructions of Punjab chief minister, met the German tourist Florian Berg and gave him succor of Rs0.5 million on Monday.

The German cyclist was robbed while sleeping on the roadside in provincial capital a few days ago. Punjab CM took notice of the incident and ordered police to arrest the criminals. During the meeting, Mengal told the German tourist that all the tourists coming to Pakistan are our guests and we are taking all possible measures for their security and safety. He informed the tourist that the police are tracing the robbers with the help of technology and the culprits will be arrested soon.

German tourist thanked the Punjab Home Secretary and said that Pakistanis are very loving and lively people. "I can never forget the manner in which the Punjab government and people supported me", added the tourist. He said that tourists can face criminals in any country. "Pakistan is my favourite country and I would like to come here again."

Florian Berg, who reached Pakistan on a bicycle while crossing through Central Asia and China, said that along with the landscape beauty of Pakistan, the beauty of the hearts of people here is also exemplary. He said that he could see the effort the law enforcement agencies are putting in to help him and arrest the accused.
