LAHORE:Commissioner Lahore division Zaid Bin Maqsood Wednesday said ensuring the provision of daily-use items at fixed rates to consumers is top priority of authorities.
Talking to reporters, the commissioner stressed the need of reviewing the mechanism for determining food prices and curbing overcharging. He said price control magistrates could improve their performance in terms of price app, and price control activities.
He said the district administration and other institutions were fully on board to facilitate consumers. The commissioner said feedback from rate list contractors and shopkeepers at the tehsil level had also been sought to gather input from all stakeholders.
The commissioner also held separate meetings with vegetable sellers, rate list contractors, district administration, agriculture department, and other relevant officers. The Special Secretary of Agriculture, the Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Assistant Commissioners (ACs), Punjab Agriculture Marketing Regulatory Authority, Punjab Information Technology Board, contractors, and market committee officials attended these meetings.
