Youth arrested over making fake robbery call

LAHORE:Barki police Tuesday arrested a suspect involved in making a fake robbery call at 15. Ali Shan, a salesman of a biscuit factory, allegedly wanted to misappropriate Rs130,000 of the company and in this regard he made a fake robbery call at 15 telling police robbers have snatched cash from him. When police grilled him he confessed to his crime and was booked.

FIA authorities Tuesday arrested a member of Hawala-Hundi gang from the Rang Mahal area. Following the directives of Director General FIA Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir, the Corporate Crime Circle Lahore on a tip-off detained accused M Adil for his involvement in illegal transactions. The FIA authorities recovered millions of Pakistani currency, records, registers, receipts, and mobile phones relating to Hawala-Hundi from the accused, who was unable to provide satisfactory explanations.

In another operation, the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Lahore unit arrested court fugitive Khurram Shehzad from Lahore. The accused was involved in human trafficking cases and extorted Rs1.6 million from a citizen promising him a Lithuanian work visa.

4 gangsters arrested

Racecourse police Tuesday arrested four members of a snatchers' gang. The police detained accused Shahzad, Faizan, Awais and Atif and recovered one motorcycle, two pistols and cash from them. The accused would loot citizens of their motorcycles, wallets and mobile phones and they are involved in 28 cases registered Shalimar, Gujjarpura and Mughalpura police stations.
