By awarding marks for achievements in sports, educational institutions can motivate students to participate actively in physical activities. He expressed these views while addressing a seminar held in connection with Olympic Day celebrations at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on Monday.

Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Acting President Abid Qadri, Secretary Khalid Mehmood, Olympians Shehbaz Senior, Asif Bajwa, Rana Mujahid and Khawaja Junaid also participated in the seminar.

Before the seminar, a walk was also organized from the main gate of Lahore College for Women University to the auditorium in which a large number of organizers and athletes participated.

The provincial minister said that this initiative will play a key role in encouraging parents to involve their children in sports activities, recognizing the importance of physical education in their overall development.

The male and female students will benefit from a more holistic approach to education that values physical fitness alongside academic achievement, he added. He said Lahore College for Women University has always played an important role in the promotion of sports among the young talented girls.

“It is hoped that the female athletes who are going to participate in the Olympics will earn respect for the country. The aim of recently-organised Pink Games was to bring out the new talent of female athletes”.
