LAHORE : The Lahore Police has planned to construct new police stations in Shadman, Shad Bagh, Sanda and Sattukatla areas of the provincial metropolitan. DIG (Operations) has been tasked to liaise with the line departments in this regard.
This was decided in a meeting held at Capital City Police Office Headquarters under the chair of CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana.
Addressing the meeting, the CCPO stressed the importance of advancing the construction of new police stations and land acquisition through effective coordination with line departments. He emphasised the swift completion of ongoing development projects under the Annual Development Programme.
Kamyana stated that providing modern resources to police stations to enhance public service delivery is the top priority of the police department.
18,705 complaints
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) Tuesday released statistics for Pakistan's first Virtual Women Police Station.
The PS received 18,705 complaints from women across the province in 50 days.
Investigations are underway on 1,482 complaints and some 1,524 FIRs were registered on women's complaints in the PS. These FIRs include 228 for domestic disputes, 67 for child abuse, and 186 for harassment, 223 for rape, 80 attempted murders, 41 murders, 6 acid attacks, and 339 other crime.
Some 13,751 cases were resolved due to reconciliation between relevant parties.
