FIA conducts 13 raids on illegal pharmacies

Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone, conducting countrywide crackdown on illegal and unregistered pharmaceutical products, has conducted 13 raids at various medical stores of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last two days, including in Peshawar, Mardan, and Haripur, FIA Headquarters said in a press statement on Wednesday.

The FIA Peshawar Zone has launched a major operation against illegal and unregistered pharmaceutical products, following the instructions of the Federal Minister of Interior, Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and the Director-General of FIA. A large quantity of fake and illegal medicines were seized, including Rotenix, Roach, Azomix, Fenaplex Drops, Cap Contour, Atom Efosol, Zeta Mid, Letap, Hexon, Levotra, Tigerl, and Proveit.

The seized medicines have been sent to the drug testing laboratory for further analysis. Inquiries have been initiated against the suspects, and an FIR will be registered after receiving the detailed report from the drug testing laboratory. The press release highlights the FIA's efforts to combat the sale of illegal and unregistered pharmaceutical products, which can be harmful to public health, the FIA concluded.
