LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shagufta Naz launched the system in an event which was attended by chairperson admission committee Prof Dr Abuzar Fahim, treasures Yunas Jatoi and other officials.

The VC was briefed that dues could also be deposited through mobile apps and other online platforms 24/7 and not a single penny would be charged for it. This is a collaborative effort from National Bank of Pakistan, IT department and treasurer of the university. Students and their parents will be facilitated through this system. All necessary instructions have been uploaded on the university app for guidance. Through CMS students will get smartcards, along with computerised roll number slips, for examinations and likewise their result cards.

Dr Shagufta Naz said the institute would be turned into a ‘smart university’ after the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan provides a WiFi blanket across the campus. ‘This project will extend the existing wireless facilities,’ she added. The VC said the university had a total of 19,000 students enrolled and smartcards would help them to obtain vouchers or pay their dues online. ‘Parents will also get SMS alerts on the university attendance of their children.’
