Dabney Coleman is dead.
The emmy-winning American actor starred in the 1980 comedy classic 9 to 5, with a career in film and television of over six decades. He died Thursday at his home in Santa Monica, California at the age of 92.
Coleman's daughter, Quincy Coleman confirmed his death to Variety.
“My father crafted his time here on earth with a curious mind, a generous heart, and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humor that tickled the funny bone of humanity,” Quincy Coleman said in a statment.
“As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence and mastery. A teacher, a hero, and a king, Dabney Coleman is a gift and blessing in life and in death as his spirit will shine through his work, his loved ones and his legacy… eternally. And always, ‘A goddamn, good looking man.'”
Coleman wed and divorced twice: from 1957 to 1959, he was married to Ann Courtney Harrell, and from 1961 to 1984, he was married to Jean Hale.
His grandchildren, Hale and Gabe Torrance, Luie Freundl, and Kai & Coleman Biancaniello, as well as his children, Meghan, Kelly, Randy, and Quincy Coleman, survive him.
