UN team lauds Punjab govt’s health projects

LAHORE:A delegation of the United Nations Office for Project Services called on Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir in the Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare on Thursday.

Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, Special Secretary M Iqbal, Additional Secretaries Dr. Hafiz Shahid Latif, Dr. Younis and Dr. Asim Altaf, DG Drugs Dr. Sohail and other officers were present. Provincial Coordinator Prof Asad Aslam Khan and Principal College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences Prof. M Moin were also present on this occasion. The UN delegation comprising of Pascal Bijliard, Henry Bonin and Dr Maryam Malik appreciated the health projects for the people on behalf of Punjab government.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz is focusing all her attention for the improvement of the health sector. Screening of children is very important in educational institutions of Punjab. He thanked the UN team for offering assistance for screening in educational institutions of Punjab.

Khawaja Imran Nazir assured the delegation to ensure the school screening programme. Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan said that in public hospitals, we are ensuring the best medical facilities for eye care. A project is being run by the Cm Punjab for the rehabilitation of differently abled children.
