District Police Officer Shafeeullah Gandapur told reporters that the incident was not an act of terrorism but it arose from a motorist’s anger over receiving a traffic violation ticket from wardens.

The confrontation unfolded when wardens, led by sub-inspector Amir Khan, intercepted a car traveling from Peshawar to Mansehra due to reckless driving along the Motorway’s Abbottabad-Mansehra section.

The suspect, identified as Mohammad Khalid and reportedly a resident of the Karkala area of Mansehra, managed to flee the scene in his car following the shooting. Police cordoned off the area and initiated a manhunt, deploying personnel to prevent his escape.

Amir Khan, originally from Oghi area in the district, was appointed to the police force from the erstwhile tribal belt of Torghar in Mansehra district. The police started investigation after lodging the FIR of the incident.
