LAHORE: FIA in a crackdown on human traffickers has arrested three alleged human smugglers. Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore FIA conducted a major operation resulting in the arrest of a notorious human smuggler identified as Yasin.
Yasin allegedly extorted substantial sums of money from individuals seeking to migrate abroad unlawfully. It is reported that Yasin received a staggering amount of 28 lakh 70 thousand rupees under the guise of facilitating a work visa for Spain, only to vanish afterward. A spokesperson for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) confirmed the arrest and assured that a thorough investigation is under way to dismantle the network and bring all involved parties to justice.
In another raid, FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore apprehended several key suspects involved in human trafficking, including two notorious proclaimed offenders. Among the arrested suspects are M Amjad and Samson Tariq.
M Amjad, listed as one of the most wanted human traffickers, was taken into custody after several cases were registered against him. During the raids, Pakistani passports were seized from the possession of the accused, raising suspicions regarding their legitimacy.
Samson Tariq, another arrested individual, is accused of defrauding a victim of lakhs of rupees by falsely promising employment opportunities in New Zealand. Tariq had been evading authorities since 2016 after absconding with the victim's money, totaling 24 lakh rupees. A spokesperson for the FIA confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations into the activities of the apprehended individuals are under way.
Speeding car crushes eunuch
A speeding car killed a 38-year-old eunuch on Raiwind Road, Chowki Ada Plot on Tuesday. The victim, yet to be identified, died on the spot. The car rider sped away from the scene while the Edhi volunteers shifted the body to mortuary.
Meanwhile, a citizen was deprived of his cell phone by mobile phone snatchers outside Services Hospital on Tuesday. The Safe City Vigilance Officer traced the mobile snatchers through cameras. As per PSCA, six persons were involved in the mobile snatching.
