LAHORE: IG Punjab took notice of the viral video of a constable in a state of intoxication in Lahore. According to the spokesperson for Lahore police, Constable Shahid was arrested, and an FIR was registered against him.
2,720 arrested; drugs seized
A meeting was held at the Capital City Police Headquarters under the chairmanship of CCPO Lahore to review the action plan regarding anti-narcotics.
In the meeting, the pending cases against drug trafficking and pending road certificates were also reviewed. The meeting was informed that under the anti-narcotics campaign, 2,630 cases were registered against drug dealers and 2,720 accused were arrested. The police recovered 76kg heroin, 36kg ice, 2,083kg hashish and 16,679-litre alcohol from the possession of the arrested accused.
