LAHORE: In the midst of an already tense environment at Punjab University's School of Communication Studies (SCS), a new controversy has emerged following a complaint lodged by unknown students with the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC).

As per the details, the complaint accuses a faculty member of sharing thoughts against societal norms. The complaint and subsequent swift response by the PHEC has also sparked concerns about the potential motives behind the complaint.

While some fear that the complaint may be a deliberate attempt to discredit the faculty member, the PHEC has requested the university's VC to investigate the allegations. On the complaint of the unknown students, the PHEC asked the Punjab University’s Vice Chancellor to investigate and submit findings into the complaint against the professor for allegedly discouraging students, and sharing thoughts against societal norms.

When contacted, the faculty member Prof Dr Hanan Ahmad termed the issue baseless and alleged that some faculty members were behind the letter written by “unknown” students.
