LGH takes special measures for pneumonia treatment

LAHORE : Special arrangements have been ensured for pneumonia treatment of child patients at Lahore General Hospital due to severe cold and pollution in the provincial capital.

In this regard on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, treatment of children at LGH will be managed under the supervision of Prof Dr M Shahid and Prof Dr Faheem Afzal of Pediatric Unit.

They will ensure all necessary steps and extend medical facilities to the children especially for pneumonia. Principal Ameer Uddin Medical College Prof M Al-Fareed Zafar while reviewing the arrangements, expressed his satisfaction and told that the vaccine of pneumonia is available to children in sufficient quantity which is being provided free of charge as per the govt policy.

He said that Prof. M Shahid and Prof Faheem Afzal should use social media and other platforms to raise awareness about Pneumonia among children and parents and guide them accordingly. Principal PGMI highlighted that LGH will continue to play its role as an all-round force to ensure public service for all diseases.

He added that for the health of infants’ doctors, nurses and other medical staff of the hospital have the passion to serve humanity.

Prof Al-Fareed said that if a child has a high fever, difficulty in breathing, he or she should immediately consult a qualified doctor and reach to Government hospital where the patient will be provided with free medical facilities.
