LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Ibrahim Hassan Murad said that all stages of inspections of mines should be closely monitored and alert messages should be included in the system to check the performance of mines inspectors.
These views were expressed by the minister while presiding over a meeting held in his camp office to review the performance of field officers. While giving a briefing about Digital Inspection Regime of Chief Inspectorate of Mines programme, it was said that inspection was done through mobile application to check the performance of field officers.
Each inspector is responsible for 14 inspections in a month. All mines have been geo-tagged while all inspection pro forma had been digitised.
The minister said that the mine owners should be registered soon. He directed that the mines department should share its data with PITB to be part of the presentation. Such presentation should be shown to the investors.
He said that the mines department should follow the ACT system regarding fines while two to three weeks should be given for the registration of the mine owners on the CIMS system. He emphasised that such a system should be adopted so that there is no disruption in communication due to non-availability of internet in remote areas. DG Mines and Minerals and PBIT officials were present in the meeting.
