‘Upgrade of nursing schools to ensure quality education’

Chief Nursing Superintendent, Services Hospital, Samina Yasmeen has said Punjab Health Department has taken a wisely and timely decision to upgrade all the 45 nursing schools in Punjab to degree colleges as nurses graduate from these colleges now would serve more skillfully and efficiently compare to diploma holder nurses of nursing schools.

Samina Yasmeen in a statement issued Sunday said nurses play very important role along with doctors in the process of recovery of patients.

She said FSc pass girls who join nursing diploma in nursing schools deserve to get admission in degree colleges for their further education which has now been possible through this decision of Punjab government.

She said the Punjab government has provided a solid foundation for promotion of nursing department by fixing 50 seats for MSc Nursing each at King Edward Medical University and University of Health Sciences.

Samina Yasmeen said BSc Nursing degree programme would immensely help to ensure international standards of nursing education in Pakistan and highly trained and educated nurses would be able to share their effective contribution to fight diseases.
