The district government did not set up weekly Sunday bazaars in Iqbal Town and Gulshan Ravi due to security concern as a suicide terror attack in Gulshan Iqbal Park last Sunday caused loss of over 72 innocent lives.

The district administration has taken precautionary measures so did not establish makeshift bazaars there this week. On the other hand, eye-washing security arrangements were made in other bazaars where dolphin squad motorcyclists kept on roaming inside the bazaars while no walk-through gates were installed or metal detectors holders were deputed to check the visitors. This exposed the vulnerability and arrangements of the government to secure the general public at makeshift markets.
