LAHORE
The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) has given a call for a province level strike on Thursday (today) against a delay in the appointment of a permanent Advocate General Punjab (AGP) that is causing an impediment in election of the bar’s new vice-chairman and chairman executive committee besides other problems.
The incumbent of the constitutional office, AGP, enjoys the office of the ex-officio chairman of the Punjab Bar Council and conducts its election.
The office has been lying vacant since January 22 when Advocate Naveed Rasool Mirza resigned due to bad health.
