Being a mother is all about loving, nurturing and caring. Being a mother is all about giving yourself up for the needs of those incredible extensions of you. It's all about living your life for someone else. It's a wondrous relationship that can never be fathomed.

Being a mother is all about loving, nurturing and caring. Being a mother is all about giving yourself up for the needs of those incredible

extensions of you. It's all about living your life for someone else. It's a wondrous relationship that can never be fathomed. This year You! has chosen

some doting, hands-on moms to share their relationship with their kids and how they plan to celebrate the upcoming Mother's Day.

1 Your most beautiful memory about your first child?

2 What’s the best thing you like about being a mother?

3 Do you pamper your kids a lot or are you a strict mother?

4 How often do you cook for your kids? What do you like cooking for them?

5 Who do you think plays a more important role in a child’s upbringing, mother or father?

6What are your plans for Mother’s Day? How do you plan to celebrate it?

Shamaeel AnsariThy name is love....

(designer)

1:       ‑The day my son was born and the first time I set my eyes on him.

2:       ‑The love that I share with my son and the support and encouragement that I receive from him.

3:       ‑I believe in giving my son guidance, allowing him to make his choices and yes I pamper him a lot too.

4:       ‑I like making breakfast for my son whenever he's in town and cooking up his favourite dishes.

5:       ‑Both, mother and father, play an equal role in a child's upbringing.

6:       ‑I spend my day working as my son lives in New York. However, I would love to give my mother a big hug and I'll probably take some flowers for her.

Ainee ShehzadThy name is love....

(interior & furniture designer)

1:       ‑Her beautiful smile, her twinkling eyes and those little fingers around my index finger.

2:       ‑Being somebody's world. Being able to hold and be held, to love and be loved, to care and be cared for.

3:       ‑I leave no opportunity to pamper them yet I stress upon being a good human being.

4:       ‑I do not cook at all but there are a thousand other things I do for them. I ensure that there is a warm and healthy meal on the table where we all eat as a loving family.

5:       ‑Absolutely both in the same proportion.

6:       ‑My children and husband plan the day. Looking forward to being pampered.

Shaiyanne Malik (designer & entrepreneur)Thy name is love....

1:       ‑The first time I set eyes on her. She was our miracle baby. I had a very difficult pregnancy and nearly lost her at birth. But when I saw her for the first time I knew that she was my beautiful miracle.

2:       ‑I love the fact that I have these parts of me who I can love unconditionally. I love the fact that each one has a different personality and I see so much of myself in my youngest Zahshanne.

3:       ‑When they were young I was strict about their timings, studies and manners. But when they became a little mature I allowed them to spread their wings. I used to pamper them whenever I could. And I still try to whenever I can although they are pretty much independent now.

4:       ‑My children live abroad now and I cook for them every day when I am there. When they are here I make all their favourite dishes. They love my khausey and Banoffee Pie.

5:       ‑Both play extremely important roles. One can't replace the other.

6:       ‑Hahaha. These are just ways for the west to commercialise everything. When my children are not with me I miss them. But when they are here, for me every day becomes mother's day.

Nazneen Tariq (jewellery designer)Thy name is love....

1:       ‑The most beautiful memory would be when I was told that I was bearing twins MashaAllah.

2:       ‑Being a mom is the best thing. Period.

3:       ‑I did both - I pampered them as well as was strict as and when needed. They knew their limitations too because I believe some discipline has to be taught to kids for their own good.

4:       ‑When they were kids I used to cook and bake very often. They used to love my 'Dum ka keema' and 'Aaloo ki bhujia' which they still remember. My kids have their own families now so I rarely cook for them.

5:       ‑Both parents play an important role in a child's stable upbringing. But for some reason if the father is not around then a mother gets a lot of strength to raise her child alone so in my eyes a mother is most important.

6:       ‑Honestly I have no plans for Mother's Day as for me every day is Mother's day. If my kids have plans then I don't know. I have a mother I adore so for her I will bake a cake and cook her favourite food.

1:       ‑My first baby was a blessing. I just can't express how I felt when I looked at my baby for the first time.

2:       ‑The best thing about being a mom is being loved by your children.

3:       ‑I have always pampered my kids and I still do and always will till I am alive.

4:       ‑Being honest I have never cooked that much so once in a blue moon I cook for my kids.

5:       ‑Definitely a mother plays a greater role in the upbringing of a child.

6:       ‑I will spend the entire day with my kids and my grandchildren. We will go out for dinner and have a perfect family day. What more can a mother ask for!

Huma AdnanThy name is love....

(designer)

1:       ‑All children are precious. My first child, my beautiful daughter, has so many lovely memories  - the first time she cried; her first step after crawling for 6 months; the time when she said her first word - booboo - to her doll which she still cherishes at the age of 21.

2:       ‑Nothing else can produce the joy or a broken heart that motherhood allows. I couldn't imagine going through life without feeling that spectrum of emotion.

3:       ‑I pamper my kids a lot. I can't see them unhappy. But there are times when I have to be strict.

4:       ‑I cook for my children occasionally especially when we are on a family vacation. They love my desi cuisine and my fusion cooking.

5:       ‑It's always a joint effort. The child learns different things from both the mother and father.

6:       ‑We generally go out for a meal with all the moms including mine and Adnan's.

Shanaz Ramzi (author & entrepreneur)Thy name is love....

1:       ‑I remember my husband and I were sitting in our room with our friends when my daughter Hina who must have been hardly two at the time walked up to one of them with some stuff that she had been eating and dumped that in front of him saying superciliously 'lo khao!' We were in fits at the way she had spontaneously come up and ordered him.

2:       ‑The warm feeling of knowing that you are not alone and you have someone to love and think about.

3:       ‑I was a strict mom but I am an indulgent grandmother.

4:       ‑I cook whenever they make demands or when I am entertaining. But one thing that I make every year at both their birthdays is chocolate chip cookies. No matter how busy I am this is a must at their birthdays and now even on my son-in-law's birthday too.

5:       ‑I think while there is no doubt that a mother plays a more important role simply because she spends a lot more time with them, the father is just as important for their upbringing.

6:       ‑Hmm! Haven't thought about it! I think I should leave that for my kids to plan.

Lal MajidThy name is love....

(the Chocolatier)

1:       ‑When I picked him up in my arms and he was smiling his beautiful smile.

2:       ‑I enjoy the pure and unadulterated love that my children have for me.

3:       ‑I was a strict mother and now they pamper me.

4:       ‑I used to cook a lot for them; now I usually bake or make desserts for them.

5:       ‑Mother and a strict mother.

6:       ‑As you know I am in a business that helps everyone celebrateMother's Day; so I'm
working on that.
