ISLAMABAD: The chairman Imran Khan on Friday wrote a letter to the Nadra chairman, urging him to replace director general (data) with an impartial and independent officer with better reputation.
The PTI chairman alleged that in the presence of the incumbent officer, Muzaffar Ali, who faced immense pressure with regards to thumb verification of voters in NA-122 from his rival Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, there were chances that this could have an impact on transparency of the entire process.
Imran contended that a person on such a senior post could influence the entire process. He cautioned that if Nadra could not take right measures, this would not serve the purpose of thumb verification of voters and also will be in negation of the orders of the election tribunal.
Online adds: The chairman Nadra has refused to remove Muzaffar Ali from his post. In a statement, spokesperson of Nadra stated that DG Muzaffar Ali is working at the headquarters since 2007 and no allegation was made against him. The spokesperson said Muzaffar cannot be removed without any proof.
