Fauzia Wahab, a central leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), is likely to undergo gall bladder surgery at a local hospital today, according to party leaders.
PPP Sindh media cell coordinator Latif Mughal told The News on Monday he had visited the health facility where Wahab was under treatment. He said he was informed by doctors that she would undergo an operation on Tuesday (today). “The doctors are hopeful that her condition will stabilise after the operation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad phoned Wahab’s son, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and inquired after his mother’s health. The governor expressed his good wishes for her early recovery.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain telephoned Wahab’s son, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and asked him about his mother’s health, said a statement. He prayed for the early recovery of the lawmaker, and appealed to the people to pray for her good health.
Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Agha Siraj Durrani also visited Wahab and presented her with a bouquet.Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Mohammad Hussain Mehanti went to the hospital on Monday, inquired after her health and prayed for her early recovery.
