Princess Anne left British press livid after dropping surprise announcement

Princess Anne left the British press shell-shocked after she did not give them a heads-up about her engagement to her first husband Captain Mark Phillips. 

It was said that tabloids had been chasing the royal's then affair and were turned down only to be left surprised by an official statement from Buckingham Palace about her plans to marry.
