The month of Ramzan attracts people from outside the city of Lahore -- chiefly suburbs, with a population of mostly underprivileged who work in paddy fields to make both ends meet.

Done with sowing paddy, these people come to town, around this time of the year, looking for work.

Their life during these thirty days is worth documenting.

Most of them push cart in daytime, in and around the interior city, usually at the Shahalam Market. They retire to roadside tandoors or khabas in flocks, and talk their day’s worries out to each other, over hot cups of doodh pati.

At night time, their carts become their beds to sleep on.
