Corona kills seven in KP

PESHAWAR: The coronavirus has started spreading due to multiple factors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and claimed seven lives and infected 399 people on Wednesday. It is stated to be the highest death toll in the fourth wave. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has lost 4435 people as a result of coronavirus since the outbreak of the infectious disease in 2020. Also, 142799 people had suffered from the Covid-19 in KP and 135687 successfully recovered. According to health experts, they had noted a rise in coronavirus cases in the province after Eidul Adha. There were different variants of the infectious disease in KP and some of the patients were diagnosed with the most deadly virus of delta variant.

Three major cities including Peshawar, Mardan and Abbottabad lost two people each to the viral infection. Another patient died in Kohat. In KP, Peshawar lost 2154 people, the highest number of people who died of coronavirus in any city.

Peshawar is followed by Mardan where 417 patients had died of the disease. In terms of human losses, Swat is the third with 363, and Abbottabad with 269 fatalities is fourth in the province.

Similarly, Peshawar reported 173 positive cases, Abbottabad 46, Kohat 28, Chitral Lower 26, Haripur 23, Upper Chitral 19, Nowshera 15, Dera Ismail Khan 13, Mardan 12, and Bannu recorded 10 positive cases. Besides these places, other districts also reported positive cases of coronavirus.
