LAHORE: Pakistan’s Olympian badminton player Mahoor Shahzad has apologised for her racist comments she made the other day.
A video clip of Mahoor went viral on the social media in which she said: “People appreciated me a lot, but yes, there are some of our badminton players, who are just like Pathan. And because I am the number one [badminton player] in Pakistan and played in the Olympics, some of our Pakistani badminton players are really jealous.
“Pakistanis have a problem that they don’t want to do it nor will they let anyone else do it,” Mahoor said.
“Her comments drew criticism from many quarters. However, early Wednesday, Mahoor posted an apology on her social media accounts.”
