Eid celebrated with religious fervour in Punjab

FAISALABAD: Eidul Azha was celebrated with religious zeal and fervour here. Eid congregations were held at mosques and open places. The faithful sacrificed animals following the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) after offering Eid prayer. The district administration and police had made elaborated security and administrative arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the Eid days.

After offering Eid prayer, Commissioner Saqib Manan and Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali visited the DHQ Hospital and presented Eid gifts to the patients and prayed for their early recovery. Later, the commissioner and deputy commissioner went to Darul Aman and presented Eid gifts to the women and their children.

Expressing their views, they said that welfare of the neglected people was a joint responsibility of the society. They said that we must not forget the deprived segments of the society on the eve of Eid. They also visited Old Age Home on Narwala Road and met the people living there.

Meanwhile, the commissioner and deputy commissioner visited various areas of the city along with CEO FWMC Kashif Raza Awan to review the cleanliness operation. They went to Jhang Road, Batala Colony, Susan Road, Madina Town, Jaranwala Road, Samanabad, Dijkot Road and other localities of the city and checked the performance of the Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) staff regarding disposal of sacrificial animal waste. They also interacted with the citizens and said that provision of prompt relief to the public was their prime priority.

The main congregation of Eid was held at Eidgah where the people from different walks of life, including politicians, offered prayer. Eidgah was overcrowded and the people overlooked the rain and offered prayer even at an open place of the Eidgah. Special prayers were offered for the prosperity and progress of the country.

NANKANA SAHIB: People celebrated Eidul Azha with religious fervour in the district. As many as 522 Eid congregations were held across the district. The police had made foolproof security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.
