4 street criminals, 3 fraudsters held
Islamabad : Islamabad Khanna police team has arrested a gang of four criminals who have been found involved in several snatching and street crime incidents in the city.
The police also recovered snatched motorbikes, mobile phones, digital cameras and weapons along with ammunition from them.
According to the details, SSP (Operations) Islamabad police, Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer had categorically directed all the Zonal SPs to accelerate their efforts to arrest the accused involved in street crime and snatching incidents and recover the looted items.
Following these directions, SP (Rural-Zone), Nosherwan constituted police teams under supervision of SDPO Shehzad Town, ASP Usman Munir. A Khanna Police team headed by SHO Khanna police station Sub-Inspector Ashiq Khan and also including SI Ghulam Mustafa and other police officials ensured high vigilance in the area and succeeded to nab 4 snatchers.
These accused were preparing for dacoity and the police team, on a tip of, conducted a successful raid and arrested them.
The accused have been identified as Uzaid s/o Fazal Raheem, Sani Boss s/o Gul Abbas, Noor Najaf s/o Pervaiz Masih and Jawad Masood s/o Masood Raheem. The Police team also recovered 3 motorbikes , mobile phone, digital camera, and pistols along with ammunition from their possession.
SSP (Operations) has said that during the preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed their involvement in several incidents of snatching and street crime in the areas of Khanna, Lohi Bher, Koral, Sihala and Express Highway. The accused used to commit crime on gunpoint at midnight and snatched motorbikes, cameras, mobile phones and other valuables.
Furthermore, Loi Bher police arrested two accused Aziz Khan and Muhammad Ali Bukhari involved in a murder and dacoity case and recovered looted cash Rs308,000 from their possession. Islamabad police arrested arrested three fraudsters from the area of Tarnol police station.
The accused have been identified as Muhammad Tariq son of Muhammad Yousuf resident of Mohra, Sagri, tehsil and district Islamabad (ringleader); Yasir Mahmood son of Mir Afsar resident of Murree and Gulistan Abbasi son of Muhammad Yaqoob resident of Murree. The police have recovered looted cash Rs 10,23,000, bogus service cards and other items from them. Tarnol police have registered a case against the accused under section 406, 170, 171, 34, 411 of the PPC and further investigation is underway.
