KARAK: Five passengers were killed and 12 including a woman were injured when a passenger bus going from Karachi to Swat collided with a truck on Indus Highway near Nashpa dehydration plant here early Friday morning.
Police said that a Swat-bound bus collided with a truck when the driver lost control over the steering and as a result, five passengers identified as Sardar Wali, a resident of Bhakar, Ghulam Rabbani, a resident of DI Khan, Hamza, a resident of Bahawalpur, and Sameen Ahmad, a resident of Peshawar, were killed. The name of the fifth deceased could not be ascertained as the bodies and injuries have been shifted to Divisional Headquarters Hospital at Kohat.
Indus Highway remained closed for some time but after one hour of struggle, the police opened the route for traffic by removing the bus from the road.
