ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Bazigars lifted the National Under-23 Football title beating Khyber Eagles by a solitary goal scored in the extra time of the match at Kunch Football Ground in Abbottabad Friday.
In front of a jubilant crowd, the two teams fought heart out but were locked 0-0 at the end of the full 90 minutes of play.
Saifullah came to the party for Balochistan Bazigars, scoring the lone goal in the first half of the extra time. Khyber Eagles missed several golden goal scoring opportunities.
KP Falcons earned third position beating Islamabad Tigers 2-1 in the third position play off.
Member National Assembly Ali Khan Jadoon was the chief guest. He was introduced with the teams by Organizing Secretary Adil Khan Jadoon. The chief guest gave away trophies, medals, certificates and cash awards to the winning and runner up teams.
President Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Eng. Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah, Vice President Malik Muhammad Amer Doghar, Secretary General, Naveed Akram, Members Ch Faqir Muhammad & Ch Muhammad Saleem, General Secretary, Syed Sharafat Hussain Bukhari, former International Footballer Shahid Shanwari were also present on the occasion.
Balochistan Bazigars were awarded winning trophy and Rs200,000 cash.
The runner-up team Khyber Eagles was awarded Rs150,000 along with runner up Trophy.
The third position holder KP Falcons got Rs.100,000 with the trophy. Punjab Warriors obtained the Fair Play Trophy with Rs50,000.00 cash award.
Balochistan Zorawar striker Zohaib Ayub got
top scorer award Rs25000.00. Best Goalkeeper award Rs25,000.00 was given to Kamran Khan of Balochistan Bazigar. Player of KP Falcons Asadullah was declared best player of the Championship and got Rs25,000.00. Twelve teams from all over the country took part in the championship.
