Police on Friday claimed to have solved the mystery behind the murder of a young woman who was found dead in the Quaidabad area two weeks ago, and arrested her husband and his two companions.
Police said the four-day-old corpse of the 26-year-old woman, identified as Maryam, was discovered at a garbage dump in Kashmiri Muhalla on June 26. Her body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.
Police learnt during the ongoing investigation that the woman’s husband, Qalbe Abbas, had murdered her with the help of two friends, Bakhtiar and Abdul Samad.
Police said the initial investigation showed that a taxi driver had kidnapped the victim and later sold her to a woman, Fatima. The buyer later married her with her son, Qalbe Abbas, who used to torture his wife.
The police said the suspects stabbed the woman’s body with a knife and also burnt it with acid after murdering her.
