RDA issues notice to owner of illegal housing scheme
Rawalpindi : Under the direction of the Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA taking strict action against illegal housing schemes. MP&TE Directorate issued notice to the owner of illegal housing scheme namely Blue World City, Chakri Road Rawalpindi to stop illegal advertisements, ceremony, and development work.
The Director MP&TE RDA has directed the owners of above mentioned illegal housing scheme to immediately stop illegal print/electronic advertisements. He said it has come to know that you have organized an inauguration ceremony of Overseas Block at illegal scheme site and invited renowned cricketer, Shahid Khan Afridi, as chief guest to grab the attention of general public.
He said RDA has already taken legal action and registered multiple FIRs in the concerned police station. At the same time, earlier Planning Permission was also withdrawn.
The notice has warned that the instant act of arranging above said ceremony itself shows that you are habitual of violating the rules and regulations and thus challenging the writ of law. The ceremony is in fact of sort of advertisement of your scheme and violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 as well as Punjab Private Housing Scheme and Land Subdivision Rules 2010.
The owner of the illegal housing scheme has been directed to cancel the above-said ceremony; otherwise, it would lead to deceiving the general public to get the impression. In case of non-compliance regarding stopping the ceremony at the site due to legal action would be initiated by RDA under provision of rules/regulations.
RDA advises the general public in their own interest that they should not make any investment in any illegal/unauthorized Housing Scheme which status declared illegal by RDA. Otherwise, they themselves will be responsible for their losses. RDA has also requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL), and PTCL, not to extend services to these illegal housing schemes as its status is un-approved / illegal. RDA spokesman said the Director General RDA has directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against illegal/unauthorized commercial and residential construction activities, booking offices and encroachments without any fear or favour.
