Pak Army to be modernised to prepare for future threats, says General Qamar Javed Bajwa

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC) on Thursday, says an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the visit, the COAS installed Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Inspector General Arms, as Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment. Outgoing Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza (Retd), a large number of serving and retired officers and soldiers attended the ceremony.

While interacting with the officers and troops, the COAS appreciated the regiment for displaying the highest standards in all professional pursuits, including their exemplary performance in operations. He also said the Pakistan Army would do all that is possible to modernise the arm of Infantry as part of its overall drive to prepare for the future threats.

Earlier on arrival at the Punjab Regimental Centre, the COAS was received by the incoming, outgoing Colonel Commandants and Commandant of Punjab Regimental Centre. The COAS also laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
