Book on state-society conflict launched at IIU
Islamabad : The book titled 'State-Society Conflict in Pakistan: A Psychological Perspective', authored by Dr. Ghulam Mujaddid and published by the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of International Islamic University (IIU) was launched here on the old campus of the university.
Chief guest of the ceremony was Air Chief Marshal (r) Sohail Aman, Former Chief of Air Staff, Guest of Honour of the ceremony was Air Vice Marshal (r) Shehzad Aslam Chaudhary, while the session was chaired by Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector IIUI.
It was also attended by Executive Director IRD, Dr. Husnul Amin, the author, Ghulam Mujadid, Vice President Academics Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice Chancellor Air University, Javaid Ahmed and Keynote Speaker Dr. Khalid Masud, former Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).
Dr Ghulam Mujadid is Air Commodore (r) who has served as a faculty at PAF Air War College and National Defense University. He continues to teach as Assistant Professor at the Department of the Aerospace Sciences and Strategic Studies (DASS), Air University.
Speakers noted that the author has discussed a valuable topic and he has discussed the solutions on this important topic. The psycho-social perspective adopted by the author was also appreciated by the speakers.
The Author appreciated the highly professional research team of IRD and also elaborated the relationship of state and society. He thanked his team and the mentors for the support. He discussed parts of the books dedicated to the sub topics such as State Society Conflict in Pakistan: The evidence, psychological nature of the state in Pakistan, psychological nature of the state in Pakistani society, values, attitudes and behaviorr of social institutions in society and resolution of state society conflict.
Speaking on the occasion, IIU Rector Dr. Masoom opined that the book has relevance to the societal needs and added that it must be the approach of the universities to launch such projects and initiatives that may serve the purpose of delivering to the society. He said research and problem solving approach according to the needs of society is the need of hour.
