LDA to bring online payment system
LAHORE : Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has directed the staff to introduce an online payment system so that the citizens can deposit their fees and other charges relating to LDA online.
He passed these directions while chairing the meeting of LDA’s Grievance Redressal Committee here on Saturday. The meeting reviewed various cases regarding commercialization fees and fines. Director General LDA after consultation with the committee issued instructions for resolving the pending cases.
On this occasion, Director General LDA Ahmed Aziz Tarar directed the officers to inform the people about the payment of LDA fees and installments. He said the details should be communicated and further simplification should be made in the LDA rules for the convenience of the people.
He also directed to improve the recovery system of the organization and further directed to establish an online system for payment of LDA fees. Invoice forms for payment of all fees and installments should be issued online for the convenience of the people, he said adding due dates of payment of all fees should also be communicated to all applicants through SMS or email.
The meeting was attended by Chief Town Planner Tariq Mahmood, Chief Metropolitan Planner Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Director Finance Muhammad Akhtar and other concerned officers.
Meanwhile, DG LDA has approved setting up of a new Directorate under the name of Directorate of Master Planning to further improve the pace of work on the preparation of Master Plan 2050. A formal notification has been issued in this regard according to which, Director Metropolitan Planning-I Faisal Masood Qureshi has been posted as Director Master Planning and Deputy Director Metropolitan Planning-I Usman Tahir has been posted as Deputy Director Master Planning while Assistant Director Metropolitan Planning-I Shahroz Javed has been posted as Assistant Director Master Planning.
10 illegal buildings demolished: On the directions of LDA DG Ahmed Aziz Tarar, the staff of Town Planning Wing Zone-IV conducted an operation against illegal constructions in Johar Town and adjoining areas and demolished 10 buildings and sealed one. Officials said an LDA team demolished illegal stairs, demolished buildings in Johar Town and demolished a shop built on public interest site in BOR Society.
They added that illegal four walls of Plot No 195 C Johar Town were demolished while an illegal restaurant on PIA Road on Plot No14 A-1 was demolished. They added that illegal foundations built in Audit and Accounts Society were demolished while an illegal restaurant on Khayaban-e-Jinnah Road was demolished. Officials added that the LDA team also demolished illegal commercial shops in Engineers Town, and illegal commercial construction in Plot No 15 C in Engineers Town was also demolished. They said Plot No 178 H2 was sealed due to illegal commercial use.
