A female TikToker and her mother were shot dead within the limits of the Quaidabad police station on Saturday.

According to police, the incident took place at a house located in Sherpao Colony in Landhi. Upon receiving information of the murders, police and rescuers reached the property and transported the casualties to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsies where the deceased women were identified as 50-year-old Kauser, wife of Riaz, and 22-year-old Raheem Shah, alias Subhan, alias Rimsha, daughter of Riaz.

SHO Ghaus Buksh said the deceased women were mother and daughter. He added that the initial investigations suggested that Raheem had married about one month ago.

The officer said the deceased young woman was a TikToker and used to chat over phone with her friends. She also often stayed outside the house although her husband stopped her from doing so.

Following a domestic quarrel, Raheem had recently left her husband’s house and was staying with her mother. According to police, her husband came there to talk to them and after an exchange of harsh words, he shot and killed the two women.

The suspect, identified as Ishaq Khan, managed to flee after committing the murders, police said. They explained that the suspect shot his wife twice and his mother-in-law once in her head, killing both of them on the spot.

Police also seized empty shells of a 30 bore pistol from the crime scene and sent them to the forensic division of the Sindh police.

Raheem and Khan had reportedly married of their free will on May 22, upon which, Kauser registered a kidnapping case against the suspect. However, the police closed the case after the suspect produced the marriage certificate.
