Two suspects held in teenage girl’s rape case

Police arrested two men on Friday for their alleged involvement in the rape of a teenage girl in Lines Area.

According to police, Shahbaz and Mubashir Khalil were involved in subjecting the girl to rape within the limits of the Brigade police station. Police said the key suspect, Shahbaz, lived in the same area and was a fruit vendor. They said he along with his friend, Mubashir, and another companion were involved in the sexual assault.

The suspects were said to have used drugs in food before subjecting the girl to rape. They also made a video of the victim. Raids are underway to arrest one more suspect, who is still on the run.

Two muggers held The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claimed to have arrested two suspects during a raid conducted on a tip-off in PIB Colony.

The suspects have been identified as Akmal Mustafa and Mujahid Madni. Police said that on June 1, the two had snatched Rs7.5 million from a person, Umarul Islam, after he had withdrawn cash from a private bank and was on the way to his home with a friend, Kashif.

This incident had occurred on Bohrani Road near Bohri Jamaat Khana, PIB Colony. Police said that Kashif was also wounded after he offered resistance to the mugging bid. The SIU police arrested both the suspects and recovered Rs6 million, two pistols and a motorcycle from their possession.
