Heavy weapons seized, two held in Orakzai
HANGU: The police seized heavy weapons and arrested two accused during checking at Shaho check-post in Orakzai tribal district on Thursday.
District Police Officer Nisar Ahmad Khan said that two motorcyclists identified as Saeedur Rahman and Hazrat Bilal were carrying weapons, including two rocket launchers, five rocket shells and eight fuses to Hangu via Shaho from Ghiljo area in Upper Orakzai tribal district.
He said the weapons were seized and the accused were arrested at Shaho check-post during checking. The bike (F1017) was also impounded. The weapons, he said, were being smuggled for subversive activities but the timely action of the police saved the area from possible deaths and destruction. The accused were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
