E-transfer system for Punjab teachers launched

LAHORE: Special Education Department Punjab on Tuesday launched E-transfer posting policy in the department. Minister for Special Education Department Ch Muhammad Ikhlaq inaugurated the E-transfer policy system at the launching ceremony held at Special Education Department and termed it another important step towards digital governance.

Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, Secretary Special Education Department Muhammad Hassan Iqbal, DG Special Education Department Pervaiz Iqbal Butt, department directors, and other senior officials attended the ceremony.

Talking about the vision of the chief minister about digitalisation, Ch Ikhlaq said under chief minister's leadership e-governance was being introduced in every sector, adding e-transfer policy would create facilities for teachers. The requests for the transfer of the teachers shall be entertained during summer vacation as per the schedule notified by the SED Punjab each year, he said and added there would be post-specific merit-based criteria for every vacant post. “It’s also a step towards convenience, transparency, and merit above all, at the same time it will be eradicating the culture of corruption, favoritism and nepotism,” the minister said. He added teachers would be able to apply online to be considered for the posting on merit. Once approved, they would get their orders in their email, he said and added these were actually revolutionary steps.

Talking about the effectiveness of the e-transfer posting system, Ch Muhammad Ikhlaq said that almost 9,353 teachers, professionals, and other staff of the special education department would benefit from the e-transfer posting system. He also appreciated the efforts of PITB and the special education department in making e-transfer policy a success.
