June 16, 2021

LAHORE:Special Education Department Punjab on Tuesday launched E-transfer posting policy in the department.

Minister for Special Education Department Ch Muhammad Ikhlaq inaugurated the E-transfer policy system at the launching ceremony held at Special Education Department and termed it another important step towards digital governance.

Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, Secretary Special Education Department Muhammad Hassan Iqbal, DG Special Education Department Pervaiz Iqbal Butt, department directors, and other senior officials attended the ceremony.

Talking about the vision of the chief minister about digitalisation, Ch Ikhlaq said under chief minister's leadership e-governance was being introduced in every sector, adding e-transfer policy would create facilities for teachers. The requests for the transfer of the teachers shall be entertained during summer vacation as per the schedule notified by the SED Punjab each year, he said and added there would be post-specific merit-based criteria for every vacant post.

Teachers body threatens protest: Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Punjab has warned of protest in case any action is taken to curb autonomy of universities.

In a press release, FAPUASA Punjab general secretary Dr Ahtisham Ali expressed concern over HEC meeting saying the meeting was convened without the involvement of all stakeholders. Dr Ahtisham further said the faculty of the universities had been severely affected by the imposition of the condition of post-PhD experience and FAPUASA has been protesting against it from day one. But surprisingly this issue was not made part of the agenda of this important meeting, he added.
